Instructional Assistant II's mild/moderate - working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.

Responsibilities

• Running small groups
• Assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education
• Supporting the teacher's needs

Qualifications

• Any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties
• In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license

Required materials

Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list:

• [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted.
• [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• [C] Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units)
• [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher)

If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, you must have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.

Secondary Elementary Instructional Assistant - Calendar 18B - (9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week). Work hours: Monday - Friday, TBD. Length of Work Day: 7 hours.
