- 5 days per week, Monday – Friday
- 6-hour work day: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM
About the role
Instructional Assistant I / II / III supporting students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher’s needs.
In some programs, possession of—or willingness and ability to obtain—a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire is required.
Requirements
Candidates must pre-qualify by attaching one of the following:
- [A] Passing score from SJUSD’s Proficiency Exam (test date April 2005 or later; no other district’s exam accepted)
- [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
- [C] Official transcripts demonstrating completion of two years of college (48 semester / 60 quarter units)***
- [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher)***
***Foreign transcripts/degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency by an accredited agency.
