About the role

Location: Gold River. Part‑time, permanent Instructional Assistant II position supporting students in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.

Responsibilities

• Run small groups of students.
• Assist students in large groups in Special Day Class and General Education settings.
• Support teacher’s needs.
• In some programs, obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire if required to drive equipment/vehicle.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Either a passing score on the San Juan Unified School District Proficiency Exam (test date April 2005‑present) or an official passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• Attach required documents (diploma and test score) to the application.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties, including experience working with mild/moderate special‑education students.

Pay

$19.51 – $25.69 per hour (IA II) according to the CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule.

Schedule

• Work year: 9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week.
• Work day: 6 hours.
• Hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
