Length of Work Year: Secondary Elementary Instructional Assistant - Calendar 18B - (9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week)

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Qualifications

  • Instructional Assistant II's mild/moderate - working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.
  • Example of typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education and supporting the teacher's needs.
  • We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties; See the job description for full details.
  • *In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license*

Materials Required/Requirements

  • Title I Sites: Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list:
  • [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted. To schedule a testing appointment, click here: Pre-Employment Test
  • [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • [C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units)
  • [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher)
