Instructional Assistant I / II / II

Salary: (IA III) $19.66 - $25.93 CSEA General Unit Salary
Schedule: Length Of Work Year Secondary Elementary Instructional Assistant - Calendar 18B - (9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week)
Length of Work Day: 6 hours
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM
- Supports students with severe/emotionally disturbed needs.
- Works with students in Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.
- Assists students in Autism classes or those assigned to a Behaviorist.
- Experience working with groups of children is highly desirable.
- Coursework in child development is highly recommended.
- In some programs, a valid California Class C Driver License is required within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
Qualifications
IA III: Relevant experience and documentation as follows:
- [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current.
- [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
- [C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
- [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).

- Title I Sites: Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list.
- [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current.
- [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
- [C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
- [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
