Installer Technician Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site
• Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken door parts, install new equipment including doors, and replace springs
• Educate customers about their options to repair the issue and prevent future problems
• Sell services to customers using a good/better/best model
• Collect payment from customers
• Manage inventory in your vehicle

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and technical skills (plus)
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently
• Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
• Able to work in the heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues
• Communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and able to serve our customers following our process
• Knowledge and experience in the garage door industry (preferred but not required)
• Able to use a computer and/or tablet
• Able to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment

Qualifications

Basic position requirements include mechanical aptitude and technical skills, ability to lift 50 pounds independently, ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time, ability to work in various weather conditions, effective communication skills, reliability, ability to follow company processes, and basic knowledge of garage door systems.
