About the Role
The HDIS Installation Coordinator serves as an internal and external customer support expert, helping to build, manage, and facilitate an excellent customer experience. This role assists customers and installation field teams by directing job flow based on business needs, monitoring job statuses, scheduling pre-installation inspections, completing job movement tasks, and managing the services process. The Installation Coordinator acts as the main point of contact between the customer and The Home Depot for all job-related needs.
Responsibilities
- Customer Experience (35%) – Initiates and maintains regular communication with customers throughout the install lifecycle, ensures timely follow-up, resolves open questions, and facilitates satisfaction from point-of-sale through follow-up service.
- Job Process Support (25%) – Communicates and coordinates with internal and external branch partners (e.g., Branch Support Center, Sales, Installation) for job-level inquiries, assists with customer escalations, and supports efficient job movement.
- Operations (40%) – Manages intake and lifecycle of all open jobs, reviews paperwork for accuracy, collects customer payments, schedules pre-installation inspections, completes data entry, places material orders for interior product lines, processes labor bills for third-party service providers, and handles service ticket intake and scheduling.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience.
- Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks with little or no direction.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in the home improvement or construction industry.
- Prior clerical and/or administrative background.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency.
Schedule & Travel
- Primarily office-based with frequent sitting and occasional movement or light lifting.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
