About the role
Berks Packing is a 3rd generation family-owned and operated meat processor facility located in Reading, Pennsylvania. We have a long-standing tradition of providing excellent product quality and customer service. Berks has been a family favorite for over 93 years!
Responsibilities
- Packaging, labeling, lifting to 50 lbs., and loading product
- Fulfillment of orders, product put aways, transfers, replenishment, and equipment maintenance
- Utilization of 8600 Packer and General Cleaning
- Prior Hi-Reach Lift Truck and Electric Rider Jack experience a plus
Requirements
- Workdays are Monday through Friday primarily 1st shift, 2nd shift, and weekends as needed
- Members of the Teamsters Local 429 and receive overtime and double-time pay
- Working conditions are in a refrigerated environment
- Safety sensitive position requiring direct responsibility for one's own and others' safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Shipper in a distribution center
- Solid work history
- Demonstrated skills in teamwork and worker safety
- Food industry experience preferred
- GED or HS diploma
- Satisfactory references
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed
