Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming phone calls and make follow-up calls to customers to build relationships and to secure future business
  • Quote stock levels, lead times and pricing on basic Architectural or Industrial repeat product
  • Gather appropriate information from customers to create customer accounts in the current business system
  • Provide consistent and thorough communication between the customer, Estimating, Customer Service, and other Departments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Interact positively and professionally with all internal and external customers
  • Prospecting and business development activities are a daily focus to gain more market share
  • Consistently maintain sufficient phone activity each day to exceed sales target
  • Generate sufficient monthly quoting activity to support sales target
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and proficiency to minimize returns and allowances
  • Create business plan for assigned territory in coordination with Inside Sales Lead
  • Make sure quotes are sent out in a timely manner, recognizing that speed wins in many instances
  • Maintain a balanced distribution of workflow to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Marketing/Tradeshow Leads are followed up on in a reasonable timeframe
  • Cross promotes all product lines
  • Utilize technology – Epicor, Dodge, iSqFt, Google Alerts, LinkedIn, Territory Searches
  • Timely coordination and qualification of incoming Invitations to Bid (ITB’s)
  • Maintain Battle Board in conjunction with Regional Account Executives and Inside Sales Lead.
  • Identify projects and documents properly within Epicor
  • Frequent and effective communication with Regional Account Executives
  • Manage territory/market pricing to maximize margins and project wins in coordination with manager.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school education or GED and one to three years of related experience in sales and/or customer service; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Good foundation in basic math skills.
  • Good working knowledge of the computer and web navigation.
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensions of faxed, e-mailed drawings for quoting stock products.
  • Continuous Learning, sales strategies, best practices, competition, new products, etc.
  • Maintain a productive and positive business environment.

  • Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
