Sales Representative
About the role
This is a full-time permanent position located in Farmington Hills, MI.
Responsibilities
- Establish and expand relationships with current customers and our outside sales team.
- Determine and provide solutions to customers' process flow control and instrumentation needs.
- Interact with customers in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
- Process orders, price inquiries, and provide technical and application information.
- Respond to customer inquiries and send order acknowledgments.
- Review and verify customer purchase orders for special conditions and documentation.
- Increase order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer buying history.
- Process and expedite orders, customer returns, and returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner.
- Select and specify products using various FCX and vendor supplied tools/software.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery with vendors when necessary.
- Work closely with Outside Salesmen to solicit business, execute order transactions, and maintain superior customer service levels.
- Communicate effectively and participate positively as a member of the Branch/Division inside sales team.
- Maximize gross margin by ensuring FCX gets paid for superior service, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
- Review open customer order reports and take action on open items.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1-3+ years’ experience in Customer Service related Industry preferred.
- Experience in an Inside Technical Sales/Customer Service/Application Engineer role with an Industrial Distributor a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of process flow control and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in using FCX and vendor supplied tools/software.
- Basic understanding of sales techniques and customer service principles.
