Sales Representative

About the role

This is a full-time permanent position located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and expand relationships with current customers and our outside sales team.
  • Determine and provide solutions to customers' process flow control and instrumentation needs.
  • Interact with customers in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Process orders, price inquiries, and provide technical and application information.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and send order acknowledgments.
  • Review and verify customer purchase orders for special conditions and documentation.
  • Increase order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer buying history.
  • Process and expedite orders, customer returns, and returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Select and specify products using various FCX and vendor supplied tools/software.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery with vendors when necessary.
  • Work closely with Outside Salesmen to solicit business, execute order transactions, and maintain superior customer service levels.
  • Communicate effectively and participate positively as a member of the Branch/Division inside sales team.
  • Maximize gross margin by ensuring FCX gets paid for superior service, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
  • Review open customer order reports and take action on open items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-3+ years’ experience in Customer Service related Industry preferred.
  • Experience in an Inside Technical Sales/Customer Service/Application Engineer role with an Industrial Distributor a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of process flow control and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in using FCX and vendor supplied tools/software.
  • Basic understanding of sales techniques and customer service principles.
