About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Inside Sales Presales Engineer based in the United States. This is a remote, customer-facing technical sales role focused on helping small and medium-sized businesses modernize and secure their network infrastructure. You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor to account managers, channel partners, and customers throughout the sales cycle.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account managers to develop account strategies, qualify opportunities, and secure technical wins across an assigned territory.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand customer business drivers, technical requirements, modernization priorities, and strategic objectives.
- Conduct technical assessments of existing network environments, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and architect end-to-end networking solutions spanning campus, branch, wireless, routing, WAN, SD-WAN, security, and cloud-managed environments.
- Recommend solutions that align technology investments with customer business outcomes and digital transformation initiatives.
- Deliver tailored technical presentations, product demonstrations, virtual engagements, and solution walkthroughs to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Support proposals, RFP/RFI responses, bills of materials, solution documentation, and other sales materials.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and subject-matter specialists on complex or multi-domain opportunities.
- Maintain strong expertise across networking technologies and portfolios, including wired and wireless networking, routing, data center, and SASE solutions.
- Monitor emerging trends such as AIOps, Zero Trust, Network-as-a-Service, AI-driven networking, and campus fabric evolution.
- Evaluate competitive technologies and clearly communicate solution differentiation, tradeoffs, risks, and recommended approaches.
- Continuously strengthen technical and industry knowledge through certifications, training, and professional development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in presales, sales engineering, solutions engineering, or another customer-facing technical role with a consultative approach.
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking technologies, including campus networking, wireless, routing, and WAN.
- Exposure to modern networking architectures such as SD-WAN, SASE, Zero Trust, or comparable technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted technical advisor by connecting customer business objectives with appropriate technology solutions.
- Strong discovery skills, with the ability to uncover both technical requirements and broader strategic priorities.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business value for audiences ranging from engineers to senior executives.
- Hands-on experience designing and architecting solutions and mapping technology capabilities to customer environments.
- Confidence guiding customers through technical evaluations and purchase decisions while explaining tradeoffs, risks, and recommended approaches.
- Strong presentation, storytelling, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with account managers, architects, engineers, and technical specialists.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume inside sales environment while managing multiple opportunities and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to staying current with technology, industry developments, and customer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- PREFERRED: Industry certifications including Aruba ACA/ACP, Juniper JNCIA, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet FCA/FCP, or CWNA.

- Competitive Compensation: Estimated annual total compensation ranges from $127,000 to $247,000 in Colorado and $120,500 to $284,000 in Texas and North Carolina, depending on location, experience, education, training, and skills.
