About the role

The Inside Sales Learning & Development Manager is responsible for elevating the capabilities and performance of inside sales teams across multiple healthcare-focused business areas. This role combines instructional design, facilitation, strategic planning, and performance analysis in a highly collaborative environment.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning strategy for inside sales teams, focusing on virtual engagement, phone-based selling, digital communication, and customer interactions.
  • Design and facilitate training programs covering selling skills, product knowledge, clinical concepts, business acumen, objection handling, call planning, account penetration, and opportunity identification.
  • Build scalable onboarding programs for new hires while creating continuous development opportunities for experienced sales professionals.
  • Deliver engaging virtual and in-person learning experiences grounded in adult learning principles and designed to accelerate time-to-productivity.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to identify performance gaps and align learning programs with revenue objectives, growth priorities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical, Market Access, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure training reflects current product messaging, positioning, clinical information, and market dynamics.
  • Support product launches, new indications, national and regional sales meetings, and other strategic initiatives through targeted learning experiences.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for inside sales excellence and develop compliant, high-quality training materials with internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage the training content lifecycle, including updates, approvals, maintenance, and continuous optimization.
  • Apply the ADDIE instructional design model and establish learning objectives and performance metrics tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, learning data, time-to-performance, behavioral observations, field performance, and business reviews, adjusting programs based on results.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed organization, influencing stakeholders and managing projects without direct authority.
  • Introduce modern learning technologies, eLearning, and digital tools to improve engagement, scalability, and learning effectiveness.
  • Stay current on inside sales methodologies, technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve learning approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and professional experience in Learning & Development, sales training, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2–3 years of experience in inside sales, sales training, or Learning & Development, preferably within healthcare, medical devices, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success supporting virtual or inside sales environments, with a strong understanding of phone-based selling, digital engagement, and consultative sales techniques.
  • Experience designing eLearning programs and using modern learning technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training facilitation.
  • Proven ability to facilitate compelling training sessions in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CRM and inside sales platforms, including phone systems and virtual engagement tools.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex healthcare products, clinical concepts, and disease-state information and translate them into practical learning content.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence effectively within a matrixed organization without relying on direct authority.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure learning effectiveness and connect training outcomes to business performance.
  • Adaptability, continuous-improvement mindset, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a dedicated, distraction-free workspace for remote work and facilitate extended training sessions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–50% for corporate meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
