Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in accordance with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Coordinates care with physicians to develop and implement wound treatment plans.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Performs the primary functions of an RN, including assisting physicians in wound care procedures.
  • Provides guidance and feedback to peers to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Works collaboratively with other health team members to achieve positive workflow and patient care goals.
  • Manages patient care by taking a leadership role in coordinating interdisciplinary teams.
  • Supports people in trying new things and generating novel ideas to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • National certification within 2 years required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or enrolled in a BSN program within 90 days of hire and completed within the first three years of employment.
  • Current RN license in the state of Florida.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent assistance in lifting patients and heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment, make sound decisions, be detail-oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

Threshold Requirements

  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements.
  • In-service and health requirements, including attendance at new employee orientation.
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program maintenance.
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
