Wound Care, RN (Full Time)

About the role

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality care is delivered through assessment and monitoring of staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident assessment.
• Provide direct care to residents.
• Work in Skilled Nursing (SNF), focusing on wound care.
• Routine daily direction and monitoring of LPNs and nursing assistants on the unit, ensuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks.
• Aid in the orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards to maintain a high quality of care.
• Motivate LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding assessments, observations, and suggestions of problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.
• Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental and emotional conditions and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff.
• Notify the physician and family members according to prescribed procedures when indicated.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State.
• One year nursing experience necessary.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
• Skill in assessing problems, planning, and evaluating solutions in relationship to routine supervision of LPNs and nursing assistants and resident needs.
• Understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with people.
• Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
• Availability to work beyond normal working hours and in other related positions on a temporary basis; as well as availability on weekends and holidays, or on days and shifts other than those for which hired.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of nursing standards of practice, standard procedures, and established State and Federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities.

Pay

The reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $36.90 - $51.94 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.

Schedule

This position is a Full Time, Day Shift position.
