This position can be hired as a Registered Dietitian Clinical or Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available.

About the Role

Facilitates the nutrition care process to provide individuals with quality medical nutrition therapy for common disease states and/or to promote optimal wellness.

Schedule

  • Full-Time (36 hours per week)
  • Monday–Friday with a half day on Wednesdays
  • Rotating weekend and holiday coverage with other Registered Dietitians
  • No graveyard shifts

Responsibilities

  • Completes and documents nutrition assessment
  • Assesses and interprets nutrition-related lab values
  • Identifies and documents nutrition diagnosis
  • Identifies and implements appropriate nutrition interventions, including quality nutrition education based on customer needs, expectations, and culture
  • Monitors and evaluates individual nutrition outcomes related to nutrition diagnosis, goals, and interventions
  • Communicates nutrition expertise with all appropriate healthcare providers
  • Collaborates with other dietitians, including referring patients to specialty-trained dietitians as appropriate
  • Supports nutrition care across the healthcare continuum
  • Participates in department continuous improvement projects
  • Exercises Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol

Qualifications

Registered Dietitian Clinical

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible
  • If hired in registration eligible status, must successfully pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam within 6 months of hire to remain in the job
  • For registration eligible graduates after January 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university (education is verified)
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program
  • State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians (must be obtained within 6 months of hire if required by the state)
  • Experience in clinical dietetics preferred

Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • For graduates after January 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university (education is verified)
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program
  • State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians (must be obtained within 6 months of hire if required by the state)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in multiple patient populations and/or disease types
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to clinical practice
  • Two or more years of dietetics experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Experience in managing patients in a specialty area preferred
  • Relevant dietetics-related specialty practice credential (e.g., CNSC, CSP, CDCES, CSO, CSR, CSOWM) preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, and medication preparation
  • For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle, which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Pay

  • Registered Dietitian Clinical: $29.43 – $45.39 per hour
  • Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist: $32.34 – $49.94 per hour
