About the role

Work one-on-one with a person with I/DD to help them achieve their goals and become as independent as possible. Work in either a private home or in the community.

Responsibilities

• Engage in daily living skills, socialization, employment, leisure and/or recreational activities
• Document progress in progress notes
• Monitor and maintain records
• Assist with money management
• Perform exercises as prescribed by professionals
• Maintain therapeutic and adaptive equipment
• Report any changes in the person's condition or needs
• Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation, or fraud
• Assume responsibility for care and maintenance of the person supported

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic principles of I/DD
• Ability to work with individuals who may be different from you
• Empathy and understanding of consumer problems
• Ability to determine consumer needs
• Ability to engage with and build a rapport with the person served
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with 3 full years of driving experience
• Acceptable level of automobile liability insurance
• Experience with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred but not required
• Willingness to complete all required trainings as assigned
• Access to a device with internet connection at the time services are rendered

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old
• Knowledge of state regulations required to work with assigned person supported
• Work only service-ordered hours unless specifically approved in advance by Administrator

Benefits

• $16.70 per hour - CLS (T2012 and T2013TF)
• $14.00 per hour - Respite (S5150)

Schedule

• 2 days per week
• Choose between Monday, Wednesday, or Friday
