Inn Housekeeper I - Full Time

About the role

Housekeepers work at the luxury hotel, the Inn at Biltmore. Level I Housekeepers must be able to clean guest rooms to the expected Biltmore standards, maintain speed requirements, and detailed cleanliness level, while offering exceptional guest service. Housekeepers will work in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Following the detailed Biltmore standards and work procedures, performing daily upkeep and presentation of guest rooms and other locations as assigned;
• dusting, vacuuming, polishing furniture, bed making, and sanitizing bathrooms as well as responsibility for amenity replenishment;
• deep cleaning projects as required;
• offering general assistance and support for the department, leadership, and the company.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar custodial/janitorial/housekeeping position is preferred.
• Ability to read checklists and communicate effectively with team members and guests according to Biltmore's values and performance standards.
• Commitment to delivering world-class guest service and the ability to work successfully as part of a dynamic, guest-service oriented team.
• Ability to complete work in a systematic way, with attention to detail and the ability to perform essential job functions with consistent high quality, within established time standards.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle/operate safely small commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, solutions, and treatments.
• Ability to be proactive and take initiative as appropriate.
• Should be able to anticipate and understand guest needs.
• Ability to work independently and under deadlines, and exercise good judgment.

Physical Requirements

• This position will require a physical exam at the Biltmore Clinic prior to starting work.
• An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of this examination.
• Lift and carry 50 pounds, push and pull 75 pounds frequently.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and use cleaning equipment.
• Endure various physical movements throughout work areas and over the duration of the work shift such as kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, etc.
• Ability to work in an environment that may include: Variable conditions and noise levels Outdoor environments with fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions Exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals, moving mechanical parts.

Pay

Starting pay begins between $16.32-$17.60/hour based on previous hotel housekeeping experience.

Schedule

Shifts may vary, but are generally: Monday - Saturday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and Sunday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (based on hotel occupancy).
