About the role

The Infusion Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating chemo/infusion treatments to ensure patients are scheduled accurately and efficiently. This role is vital in improving patient access by balancing patient load and optimizing resource utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule chemo/infusion treatments following established protocols.
  • Complete infusion scheduling requests and communicate updates to patients.
  • Use scheduling software to enhance infusion resource utilization and patient flow.
  • Collaborate with Infusion Team, Physician Nurses, and Medical Assistants to coordinate schedule changes.
  • Verify schedule accuracy; manage chemo scrubbing reports.
  • Train and orient new employees as assigned.
  • Cookordinate pharmacy orders with physicians/nurses.
  • Manage phone and email communication related to scheduling.
  • Maintain scheduling calendars and reschedule appointments promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Phone Room, Medical Records, Insurance, Front Desk, Pharmacy) for record verification.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Participate in staff meetings and team-based operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and follow-up capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Effective problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, email, and related applications.
  • Team-oriented mindset with ability to build strong internal relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to satellite offices as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a clinical environment.
