About the role
The Infusion Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating chemo/infusion treatments to ensure patients are scheduled accurately and efficiently. This role is vital in improving patient access by balancing patient load and optimizing resource utilization.
Responsibilities
- Schedule chemo/infusion treatments following established protocols.
- Complete infusion scheduling requests and communicate updates to patients.
- Use scheduling software to enhance infusion resource utilization and patient flow.
- Collaborate with Infusion Team, Physician Nurses, and Medical Assistants to coordinate schedule changes.
- Verify schedule accuracy; manage chemo scrubbing reports.
- Train and orient new employees as assigned.
- Cookordinate pharmacy orders with physicians/nurses.
- Manage phone and email communication related to scheduling.
- Maintain scheduling calendars and reschedule appointments promptly.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Phone Room, Medical Records, Insurance, Front Desk, Pharmacy) for record verification.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Participate in staff meetings and team-based operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and follow-up capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Effective problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, email, and related applications.
- Team-oriented mindset with ability to build strong internal relationships.
- Willingness to travel to satellite offices as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a clinical environment.
