Position Summary
The Infusion Referral Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office. You will support medical staff and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists nurses with obtaining patient orders, office visit notes, and labs from outside provider offices
- Act as point of contact for stakeholders
- Interview patients for case histories prior to appointments
- Update and maintain patients’ health records
- Aid patients with initial paperwork
- Schedule and coordinate appointments
- Process insurance claims in compliance with law requirements
- Use medical software to support all transactions
- Manage receivable and payable accounts and maintain financial records
- Answer patients’ queries and ensure quality customer service
- Collaborate with doctors and nurses to help with scheduling tests and ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with procedures
- Keep up to date with changes in medical and insurance legislation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience and/or training in similar medical practice/field
- Infusion office experience highly preferred
- High school diploma: certification in medical administration is a plus
- Experience accessing Electronic Medical Records (prior authorizations, claims, and scheduling)
- Experience in Inventory Management
- Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
