Infusion Medical Assistant - Float

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Collect and document patient data including vital signs and medication updates.
• Aid physicians and clinical staff with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Cook up and clean exam rooms and maintain inventory.
• Provide patient communication, scheduling support, and documentation assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One to three years of Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• A degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• An NCMA certification is preferred.
• A current BCLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Physical Demands

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

• Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment may occur.
