Infrastructure Technical Program Manager, Global Connectivity Infrastructure Delivery - Long Haul Fiber Deployment, GCID-FD
About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Infrastructure Technical Program Manager to support and deploy one of the world's largest and most complex telecommunication networks. The role involves executing a strategic plan to enhance business processes and deploy hyper-scaled cloud infrastructure, including pre/post-inspections for design validation, creation of quality control systems, and stakeholder communication for delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Monitor vendor delivery of physical infrastructure projects.
- Manage and track approved network plans with internal customers and stakeholders.
- Develop a focused quality management program to track defects, mitigate risks, standardize root cause analysis, and implement key performance measures.
- Establish and utilize reporting mechanisms to provide regular progress updates on program deployment to management and stakeholders.
- Audit completed construction work, review fiber test results, and hand-off completed delivery to internal customers.
- Coordinate access and approvals to security-regulated sites.
- Interact with engineers, technicians, vendors, and senior management on a daily basis.
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
Qualifications
- Has led multiple large greenfield network construction programs, preferably backbone/longhaul.
- Understands OSP and ISP construction standards in multiple regions.
Skills
Technical skills of either fiber optic outside plant, process engineering, construction & vendor management, or quality control systems are required.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually.
Schedule
About 25-40% travel is expected.
