About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Infrastructure Administrator (Windows/Linux) to join our client's support team in a hybrid role based in Boston, MA. This is a 1-year contract with possible annual extensions. The ideal candidate will have strong Windows administration experience and a working knowledge of Linux environments, supporting a mixed Windows/Linux infrastructure. You will collaborate with senior Linux resources while further developing your Linux administration skills and provide support to client employees, both remote and local, ensuring seamless operation of technology systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all functions related to server OS and hardware
• Provide (remote) first/second-line technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, escalating problems as needed
• Collaborate with other IT team members to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures
• Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and configurations
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in IT support

Requirements

• Minimum 6+ years of experience supporting Windows servers
• Strong technical background in an enterprise environment
• Hardware, software, RAID configuration, and patching experience
• Proven experience in IT support or a related role in an enterprise environment
• Proficient in configuring and maintaining Windows operating systems, with additional knowledge of Linux/WSL
• MacOS knowledge is a plus
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and hardware
• Excellent remote troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with IT security practices and protocols
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bash shell experience

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is between $37.50 and $50.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
