About the role
The Information Technology Specialist supports Straticon's IT department and end users, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of hardware, software, networks, and mobile devices across offices and job sites.
Responsibilities
- New-hire and offboarding setup, including devices, software, and secure account access.
- Day-to-day help desk support for hardware, software, networks, and mobile devices.
- Asset tracking and inventory, ensuring all devices are registered, secured, and in compliance with company policies.
- IT infrastructure setup and maintenance across offices and job sites, including printers and other networked devices.
- Vendor coordination for hardware, software, and IT services.
- Design and implementation of IT security policies, procedures, and governance standards.
- Network, cloud, and endpoint security, including firewalls, VPNs, MFA, and access control models.
- Incident response, including breach detection, containment, and resolution.
- IT training sessions for staff, developed and delivered with the Employee Outreach Department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of IT security principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency with network security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Experience with cloud security, endpoint security, and secure configuration management.
- Strong understanding of encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access control models.
- Experience with incident management, including breach detection, containment, and resolution.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
