Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance to staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
  • Assists in managing AWARE’s IT Help Desk to determine and resolve problems received from staff.
  • Interacts with various computer platforms.
  • Ensures seamless integration of desktop computers with diverse systems such as validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
  • Trains and/or orients staff on the use of hardware and software.
  • Configures, monitors, and maintains security camera systems and access control systems.
  • Proposes and/or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
  • Works with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software, and maintains an active and accurate inventory system.
  • Orders computer supplies, assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases, and assists with fieldwork as needed.
  • Contributes to the development and review of written policies and procedures governing all aspects of the Information Technology Department.
  • Updates and maintains company contacts.
  • Set up and load computer equipment with required items and prepares computer equipment for operation.
  • Troubleshoots minor equipment malfunctions and corrects them as directed by computer operation manuals or supervisor.
  • Performs tasks necessary to prepare computers for delivery to requesting staff.
  • Able to react to change proactively, handle other essential tasks as assigned, and perform office work as assigned.
  • Maintains logs of all work using IT helpdesk system; able to pull, terminate, and test low voltage wiring.
  • Operates within Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Well documented work-related history noting skills, knowledge, or experience in information technology.
  • A valid Montana Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record required.
  • Knowledge, skills, and a well-documented work history in information technology and computer science.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment, hardware, software, applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience within Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills.
