About the role
As an Information Technology Specialist, you will provide technical and analytical support to meet the information management and litigation support needs of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). You will support attorneys and staff by delivering technology solutions for electronic evidence, case preparation, trial support, and secure information systems. The USAO IT environment includes Windows workstations, enterprise networks, litigation support applications, case management systems, and courtroom technology.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate litigation support services, including trial preparation and courtroom presentation, in response to customer needs.
- Test, configure, install, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot litigation support hardware and software.
- Resolve hardware, software, and system interoperability issues affecting litigation support operations.
- Maintain the inventory and operational readiness of litigation support equipment and technology assets.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data by implementing and supporting information security policies, procedures, and technical controls.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain internet, intranet, and extranet resources that support litigation operations.
- Provide customer support, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, technical assistance, and end-user training.
- Assist with planning, policy development, and process improvements related to litigation support and information technology services.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit, and tax checks, and drug testing.
- Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Under the updated Competency-Based Qualification Standard for the IT Management Series (2210), applicants must meet or exceed all required competencies at the minimum proficiency level for the GS-9 grade(s) and have the required specialized experience for the GS-07 and/or GS-9 grade(s). Failure to meet these criteria may result in ineligibility.
For the GS-7:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service providing information technology concepts, methods, standards, and practices as they relate to automated Litigation Support functions, such as trial preparation and presentation; providing IT customer service; and installing and maintaining litigation support hardware and software.

For the GS-9:
Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service providing Information Technology concepts, methods, standards, and practices as they relate to automated Litigation Support functions, such as trial preparation and presentation; installing, configuring, and maintaining specialized software and hardware systems; and developing and managing Litigation Support systems that meet current and future needs.
Competencies: Same as GS-7.
