Responsibilities
- Hands on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts (SAN & NAS)
- Knowledge and understanding of protocols including S3, CIFS, NFS, iSCI, and Fiber Channel Block Storage (SAN)
- Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments (Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, CommVault)
- Performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
- Data center migrations and storage replication technologies
- Senior-level experience with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems across multiple hardware platforms and data centers
- Strong understanding of high availability concepts and practical experience with key components in storage environments
- Understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet
- Essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc.
- Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (Nutanix, VMware vCF, OpenStack)
- Understanding of security best practices and federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification for IAT Level II
- DoD 8570 compliance
