Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) – Skill Level 3 with Security Clearance

About the role

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring that all systems and networks are secure and compliant with relevant regulations. This includes conducting security assessments, managing access controls, and responding to security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of systems and networks
• Manage user access controls and implement appropriate security measures
• Respond to security incidents and ensure timely containment and resolution
• Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other security professionals and IT staff to enhance overall security posture
• Stay informed about emerging threats and technologies to proactively address potential vulnerabilities

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Experience with security protocols, risk management, and incident response
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection systems
• Experience with cloud security and compliance standards
• Experience with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and FISMA
