About the role
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring that all systems and networks within the organization comply with security policies and standards. This includes conducting security assessments, managing access controls, and responding to security incidents.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits
- Manage user access controls and implement security policies
- Respond to security incidents and ensure timely reporting
- Collaborate with IT staff to enhance security measures
- Stay updated on emerging threats and best practices in cybersecurity
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, preferably in a government or defense setting
- Experience with security protocols such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and CMMC
- Strong understanding of network security, encryption, and data protection
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing information security
- Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection systems
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
