Information Systems and Decision Sciences - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

About the role

The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas: Information System (Management Information Systems / MIS), Statistics / Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics / Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Information System, Statistics, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics / Information Technology.
• Teach graduate-level courses in the M.S. in Information Systems (MSIS) and MBA concentrations in Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Decision Sciences.
• Work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Interact with and foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Use tools appropriate to the teaching area such as SQL/databases, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI, Excel modeling, and/or systems analysis and design.
• Integrate artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools responsibly into instruction.
• Support the College’s AACSB accreditation by demonstrating professional currency, certifications, and scholarly activity.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Operations Research, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Sciences or related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
• Relevant experience in a related quantitative or computational field.
• Demonstrated competency with the tools used in our courses appropriate to the teaching area.
• Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a related field.
• Preference given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Preference given to those with relevant performance and professional experience.

Skills

• Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students.
• Experience in a related quantitative or computational field.
• Competency with the tools used in our courses appropriate to the teaching area.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools.
