The Department of Computer Science at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas:

About the Role
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
Responsibilities
Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Requirements
- MS degree in computer science or closely related field, or BS degree in computer science or closely related field with at least 5 years industry experience in computer science field, and demonstrable experience in the appropriate field.
- Ideal candidates will be able to document their excellent academic preparation in computer science or closely related field along with current experience in industry.
- Proficiency in online teaching strategies.
- Candidates should have prior teaching experience at the university level.
- Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: MS degree in computer science or closely related field, or BS degree in computer science or closely related field with at least 5 years industry experience in computer science field, and demonstrable experience in the appropriate field.
- Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, preference given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment, and those with relevant work experience and who bring professional capabilities.

Appointment Date and Academic Calendar
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
Performance Evaluation
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments.
Appointment and Salary
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.

The Department The department of Computer Science is the largest department in ECS and offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Science in Computer Science, and an online Master of Science in Software Engineering. The Master of Science in Software Engineering is ranked #26 in the nation and 3rd in California among online engineering programs by the U.S. News and World Report.
