About the role

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking an Information Security Administrator to strengthen the Agency’s cybersecurity posture across both Information Technology and Operational Technology/Industrial Control System environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor security tools and processes to detect and respond to cyber threats.
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to industry frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Advocate for and promote a culture of cybersecurity and operational resilience within the organization.
  • Manage enterprise systems and platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, and core security tools including firewalls, SIEM, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to implement and maintain secure technology practices.
  • Participate in simulated cyber-attack scenarios (red team/blue team).

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in cybersecurity, information technology, or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in information security governance, information security programs, tools and technologies including network monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience supporting security for Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control System (ICS) environments is desirable.
  • One of the following information security certifications or similar certification: CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, Security+, ISA 62443.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with cybersecurity tools and technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, and network monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Skills

  • Proactive and analytical approach to cybersecurity.
  • Ability to assess vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
  • Expertise in threat detection, network analysis, and responding to security alerts.
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks, regulatory requirements, and organizational security objectives.

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. Under the leadership of a directly elected five-member Board of Directors, the Agency is committed to supporting the needs of its service area and safeguarding public health through significant investments in a diverse water supply portfolio, reliable municipal/industrial wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services in a regionally planned and cost-effective manner. As a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan), IEUA provides supplemental water supplies, primarily via the State Water Project (SWP) for distribution among nine retail agencies. IEUA also replenishes local groundwater supplies with captured stormwater and recycled water produced by IEUA that is later extracted by local water agencies for use as a drinking water supply.
