About the role

The Information Security Administrator supports Kwik Trip’s Information Security team by administering and maintaining the organization’s security tooling stack across multiple security domains. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management, configuration, and optimization of security technologies to ensure they operate effectively and reliably. The coordinator supports the security ticketing queue by fulfilling service requests, troubleshooting tool-related issues, and completing configuration and operational tasks in a timely manner. This position focuses on sustaining and improving the overall health of security platforms through updates, policy tuning, and vendor coordination, while partnering closely with internal IT stakeholders to ensure consistent and secure deployment of controls in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as front-line support for information security related incidents and tasks
  • Review and triage business requests impacted by security tool blocks (e.g., access issues, denied traffic, quarantined files)
  • Affiliate with vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts
  • Conduct network and user activity audits when required
  • Modify, create, and maintain rules/policies (e.g., firewall, EDR, email security, web filtering) to support business operations
  • Continuously improve workflows for faster triage and resolution of tooling-related requests
  • Document security procedures, standards, and policies
  • Collaborate with Information Security team members to investigate and resolve incidents efficiently
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support after-hours security needs
  • Maintain, monitor, analyze, and respond to security logs and alerts using SIEM tools

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 0–2 years of experience interpreting or working with security-related logs and events
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of information security principles and best practices

Skills

  • Information security certifications
  • Familiarity with security tools such as email filtering, endpoint detection and response, and content filtering solutions
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security frameworks
  • Experience creating technical documentation or training materials

Pay

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday through Friday (hybrid), daytime hours with a rotation cycle for on call. Work on weekends, holidays, and non-business hours may be required.
