About the role
The Informatics Training Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the organization's clinical technology initiatives by providing education, training, and ongoing support for electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for clinical systems and EHR applications.
- Provide onboarding and orientation training for new physicians, nursing staff, clinic staff, and other employees.
- Offer ongoing education and support to end users to promote system proficiency and workflow efficiency.
- Assist departments in identifying, evaluating, and improving clinical workflows.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to support the adoption of new technologies.
- Partner with Oracle and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and optimize system performance.
- Manage and resolve tickets related to clinical applications and user support.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives through documentation, training, and competency validation.
- Participate in project planning, implementation, and change management activities.
- Develop reports and tools that support clinical and operational decision-making.
- Attend department meetings and provide guidance on clinical informatics initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for clinical technology workflows and best practices.
Requirements
- Achieved Associate's degree in a healthcare, information technology, education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train individuals and groups with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Possessing a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Education, or related field is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner or comparable EHR platforms.
- Experience developing educational materials and training programs.
- Experience in clinical informatics, healthcare technology, or project management.
- Experience supporting system implementation and adoption initiatives.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to effectively educate and engage adult learners; Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations; Strong customer service orientation and commitment to user support; Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously; Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and optimization; Ability to work collaboratively across departments and organizational levels.
