About the Role
Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating infection control programs in a healthcare facility. Collaborates with leadership and medical staff to manage infection prevention, antibiotic stewardship, isolation protocols, and employee health initiatives. Oversees vaccination programs, monitors healthcare-associated infections, and reports outbreaks per regulatory guidelines. Serves on quality committees and leads infection control meetings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and assess annual infection control plans.
- Manage isolation procedures, education, and monitoring.
- Coordinate COVID-19 prevention efforts including vaccinations and documentation.
- Conduct infection surveillance, tracing, and outbreak management.
- Perform regular audits and risk assessments to identify trends.
- Communicate with staff regarding illness, outbreaks, and precautions.
Requirements
- Licensed registered nurse, BSN preferred, with current Missouri license.
- Minimum five years of recent clinical nursing experience, including infection prevention.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities required.
- CPR/AED certification; Infection Prevention certification highly desirable.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle physical tasks involving residents and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of geriatric care needs and maintaining confidentiality with tact and discretion.
Pay
$59,810.13 - $106,407 annually.
