Infection Prevention Nurse - Full-Time Day Shift + On-Call

Role Overview: This position involves collaborating with facility leadership and the medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the infection control program. Responsibilities include managing isolation protocols, overseeing COVID prevention and vaccination programs, conducting infection surveillance, and monitoring outbreaks in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Key Duties: Conducting audits and risk assessments, serving on the QAPI committee, and leading infection control meetings. Ensuring effective communication across disciplines regarding staff health and transmission precautions. Tracking immunization data and updating protocols based on CDC, CMS, and state guidelines. Qualifications & Skills: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Missouri nursing license, CPR/AED certification, and at least 5 years of recent clinical and infection prevention experience in a skilled nursing setting. Preferred qualifications include a BSN and Infection Prevention certification. Essential skills include strong organizational, communication, documentation, and critical thinking abilities, along with physical capacity for resident handling and equipment use. Ability to manage multiple activities, adapt to interruptions, and respond to the physical and psychosocial needs of geriatric residents.
