INEEXP - Staff Attorney
The Office of Judicial Administration is responsible for the efficient administration of all agencies that operate under the direction of the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court. That includes 200 personnel; fiscal management; communication; technology; legal services; intergovernmental relations; services for the trial courts; and support for court boards, commissions, and committees. The Office is headed by Interim Chief Administrative Officer Aaron Hood, who reports directly to the Chief Justice of Indiana and serves as the link between the Chief Justice and the agencies of the Court.

The Indiana Office of Court Services (IOCS) is seeking a Legal Support Attorney to join the Legal Support and Statistics Division. Responsibilities
- Respond to complex legal research requests from judicial officers and court administrators, primarily related to civil law but across a wide range of legal topics, including family, probate, administrative, and criminal law.
- Monitor and analyze case law and legislation that may impact Indiana’s courts.
- Collaborate with a team of staff attorneys.
- Support Judicial Conference and Supreme Court committees, the Civil Benchbook, Commercial Courts, and other committees by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and assisting with policy development.
- Contribute to the revision of Benchbooks, drafting legal content, and ensuring timely updates.
- Collaborate with IOCS education attorneys to develop and review judicial education materials and presentations.

- Information Gathering: Analyze data from multiple databases to complete clear and concise reports, as well as complete them with recommendations.
- Technology and Tool Usage: Learn and adapt to new technologies within the Microsoft Suite as well as Supreme Court systems.
Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $85,000.
