Description Duties
The ITS – 2 Abatement supervisor is responsible for maintaining abatement schedules, including the quality of work performed, maintenance of equipment and tools, safety and sanitary conditions in his or her area, requisitioning and maintaining adequate levels of supplies, and preparation of several reports on a daily or weekly basis.
The incumbent is also responsible for the daily oversight of incarcerated individuals' payroll.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications
- You have had at least five years of experience in a manufacturing process or trade, with one year directly related to the specialty for which you are applying.
- You must have three years of supervisory experience.
- You must be a High School graduate or have a High School Equivalency diploma issued by a recognized state educational authority, or a USAFI GED High School certificate.
- Candidates for the Industries Training Supervisor 2 (Abatement Specialist) title must possess a current New York State Department of Labor license as an asbestos handler and an asbestos contractor/supervisor.
- Substitution: Up to two years of related vocational technical education may be substituted for up to two years of general experience at the rate of twelve credits equal to six months.
