- Design and integrate industrial robot cells (material handling, palletizing, welding, assembly) with PLC-controlled equipment
- Develop and maintain robot programs (teach pendant and offline programming) and manage version-controlled backups
- Implement and debug PLC logic, IO mapping, fieldbus communication, and safety interlocks
- Specify and validate end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), grippers, and sensing strategies
- Configure and tune vision-guided robotics for localization, inspection, and pick-and-place alignment
- Plan and execute commissioning, FAT/SAT checklists, and run-at-rate validation with production teams
- Perform root-cause analysis on downtime events and implement corrective actions to improve OEE
- Create controls documentation (IO lists, wiring diagram markups, change logs, SOPs)
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, quality, and operations to meet throughput and quality targets
- Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards, risk assessments, and lockout/tagout procedures
Requirements
- Mid-senior experience delivering industrial automation/robotics projects in manufacturing environments
- Hands-on robot cell integration experience and familiarity with common industrial robot platforms
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills; ability to interpret electrical schematics and IO
- Commissioning experience supporting production ramp-ups
- Working knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus) and sensor integration
- Understanding of functional safety concepts (safety relays, safety PLCs, interlocks, light curtains)
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and follow change-control discipline
