About the Role
Rex.zone is hiring an Industrial Robotics Engineer to engineer and support industrial automation solutions involving 6-axis robot arms, EOAT, conveyors, sensors, and safety devices. This is a remote, full-time role with coordination and potential limited travel depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Program and debug industrial robots for pick-and-place, palletizing, welding, dispensing, and material handling
- Develop PLC logic and integrate robots with drives, sensors, and safety controllers
- Commission and validate robot cells (I/O checks, interlocks, recovery procedures)
- Optimize motion sequencing and cycle time; improve throughput and first-pass yield
- Troubleshoot downtime using structured diagnostics (logs, fault trees, cycle analysis) to restore uptime
- Maintain documentation: backups, change logs, standards, and SOPs
- Partner with mechanical design to specify EOAT, fixtures, guarding, and maintainability
- Implement safety-rated functions (E-stops, light curtains, safety scanners) and support risk assessments
- Drive continuous improvement and OEE gains through root-cause analysis and standard work
Qualifications
- Mid-Senior experience delivering industrial robotics and factory automation projects
- Hands-on robot teach pendant experience; frames/tools/payloads/calibration concepts
- Working knowledge of PLCs (ladder logic/structured text) and fieldbus (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
- Familiarity with machine vision basics and sensor integration
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and safe cell design principles
- Ability to read and collaborate on electrical/mechanical drawings and wiring schematics
Work Model
Remote role supporting distributed engineering work and customer/plant sites as needed. Full-time schedule with cross-functional collaboration across time zones.
