About the role
Rex.zone is hiring a mid-senior engineer to design, implement, and validate robotics software for automotive automation programs, focusing on real-world reliability and measurable safety outcomes across ADAS and autonomous driving workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robotics components for perception-to-planning-to-control pipelines in automotive contexts
- Implement sensor fusion strategies for camera, radar, and LiDAR data; evaluate accuracy and latency tradeoffs
- Improve localization and mapping workflows (e.g., SLAM, odometry fusion) for consistent vehicle state estimation
- Build scenario-based testing in simulation and HIL/SIL environments; define metrics for pass/fail and regression
- Collaborate with QA and safety teams to document requirements, edge cases, and verification evidence
- Optimize performance (CPU/GPU, memory, real-time constraints) and improve system observability (logs, traces)
Requirements
- Mid-Senior experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or automotive software engineering
- Strong C++ skills and production experience with ROS2 or comparable robotics middleware
- Practical experience with planning, control, and robotics state estimation fundamentals
- Familiarity with computer vision and ML evaluation for perception modules (accuracy, precision/recall, calibration)
- Experience with simulation tools, dataset-driven validation, and CI/CD for robotics software
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to ADAS/autonomous driving stacks and automotive safety considerations
- Knowledge of CAN, vehicle dynamics, and embedded or real-time systems constraints
- Experience designing test scenarios, analyzing corner cases, and implementing automated regression frameworks
