Industrial Painter / Shop Technician
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Industrial Painter / Shop Technician to assist with painting and general production work. Painting accounts for about 20% of the position, with the remaining time focused on material handling, rigging, equipment operation, and other shop duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform industrial painting and related preparation work
- Move materials using overhead cranes and forklifts
- Load, unload, and position materials safely
- Handle rigging for materials and equipment
- Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately
- Assist with production and general shop activities as needed
- Complete required respiratory fit testing
- Follow PPE, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures
- Move between different tasks and work areas based on production needs
Requirements
- Previous industrial or production painting experience
- Knowledge of painting techniques and proper application methods
- Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment
- Background in rigging and material loading/unloading
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Ability to pass a respiratory fit test
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices and PPE
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working independently and with a team
- Willingness to perform duties beyond painting in a fast-paced shop environment
Pay
Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience. 2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour.
Schedule
1st & 2nd Shift Available.
