Industrial Mechanical Technician

About the role

C&W Services is the industry leader in cutting-edge maintenance and janitorial programs for facilities ranging from corporate office portfolios to manufacturing plants and large public venues. This role is located in Wahpeton, ND.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment.
• Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.
• Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts.
• Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate with all team members to assist in short- and long-range planning.
• Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of mechanical experience and/or 1-2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies preferred.

Qualifications

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties Communication/ Expression —The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
