About the role
A versatile industrial mechanic installs, troubleshoots, and repairs complex factory machinery spanning mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This multi-skilled role requires performing preventative maintenance, executing emergency repairs to minimize downtime, and adapting quickly to diverse plant equipment and new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and Repair: Find the root cause of equipment failures in motors, conveyors, pumps, and automated lines, then fix or replace parts.
- Preventative Maintenance: Run routine checks, clean and lubricate parts, and service systems to stop unexpected breakdowns.
- Cross-Discipline Tasks: Handle basic electrical troubleshooting, pipe fitting, and welding as needed.
- System Testing: Test run repaired machinery to verify safe and correct operational performance.
- Documentation: Log maintenance tasks and order replacement parts using computerized tracking systems.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic industrial electricity.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding gear.
- High school diploma plus trade school certification or proven hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
