Industrial Mechanic

About the role

Our tomato processing facility in Dixon, CA is seeking a full-time Mechanic to join our team. This position requires seasonal overtime work and involves working with advanced steam systems, turbines, evaporators, and boilers. The successful candidate will also have experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul plant's mechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot to the component level, research manufacturer manuals, and identify replacement parts
• Assist in preventative maintenance activities
• Support production goals and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Operate equipment for pre-flight tests
• Recognize and address failure symptoms of bearings, belts, gears, couplings, etc.
• Use measurement devices and mathematical equations to determine differences in readings
• Wear proper personal protective equipment and follow safety rules and lock-out procedures
• Perform gas welding and arc welding tasks safely

Requirements

• Advanced experience with steam systems, turbines, evaporators, and gas-fired boilers
• Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components
• Knowledge of shafts, keys, chains, sprockets, gears, bearings, and their components
• Ability to analyze bearing failures and determine probable causes
• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and steam systems
• Knowledge of safety rules and lock-out procedures for these systems
• Experience with gas welding (oxyacetylene and torch brazing) and arc welding (stick, MIG, TIG)
• Ability to use measurement devices and perform calculations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a similar role
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay

Individual base pay ranges from $34.16 to $37.93 per hour, depending on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
