Industrial Mechanic
Summary: The Industrial Mechanic will disassemble and reassemble paper machine components according to blueprints, memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction, using hand tools and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Reviews work orders and/or blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine work required.
- Assembles and disassembles components.
- Inspects and measures components with precision tools and instruments to ensure they are within specifications.
- Cleans parts with solvents, steam cleaner, hot tank, sand blaster, and/or caustic soda.
- Machines parts to specification, using small lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.
- Operates forklift, overhead crane, or pickup truck to move parts and components.
- Primers or paints parts by hand or with spray gun.
- Maintains a clean work area.
Requirements
- Possess hand tools and toolbox necessary for job, and provide itemized list to employer for insurance purposes.
- Minimum tool list will be provided by employer.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and work orders.
- Demonstrate mechanical abilities (i.e., millwrighting, machinist, automotive background).
- Meet production deadlines; may change or rotate shifts.
- Flexibility required in job duties and hours.
- Operation of equipment/tools/vehicles: Equipment: Small machine tools, steam cleaners, sand blasters, and overhead cranes. Tools: Hand and power tools including measuring instruments.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 3-5 years of mechanical rebuild experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Be able to lift up to 50-70 pounds intermittently.
- Have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Wear applicable PPE.
THIS IS A 1ST SHIFT POSITION M-F 7:00am-330pm
PAY STARTS AT $24.00 - $36.00 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.
