Industrial Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Industrial Maintenance Technician works 1st shift Monday - Friday from 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, with approximately one Saturday per month.
Responsibilities
- Perform all preventative, on-demand and improvement maintenance activities at Envigo RMS LLC – Teklad Custom and Standard Diet production facilities.
- Maintain and improve safety and security equipment.
- Implement and maintain the facility’s health & safety program.
- Ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective preventative maintenance for all building, grounds, and equipment in compliance with established quality management system and facility’s health & safety program.
- Perform safe, timely, and cost-effective repairs of buildings and equipment on-demand.
- Troubleshoot and repair process equipment safely and timely to ensure equipment availability for use.
- Communicate effectively with production, shipping, and receiving employees regarding equipment or building repair schedules, completion, and equipment availability for use.
- Train other maintenance technicians and selected production co-workers in preventative and repair maintenance work.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Three + years of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical industrial maintenance work experience within a manufacturing work environment.
- Industrial Maintenance professional designation including state recognized trades such as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Master Electrician (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree or other advanced degree in engineering (helpful but not required).
Preferred Skills
- Accomplished oral and written communication skills.
- Industrial maintenance hands-on work experience (multiple years) – electrical, mechanical, material fabrication, plumbing.
- Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
- Work independently with moderate supervision.
- Practice continuous improvement – Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO quality system environment.
- Microsoft Office Suite – user skills.
- Mathematic skills that include geometric and volumetric calculation ability.
- Aptitude to comprehend solid and liquid process flow.
Physical Mobility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb. objects to shoulder height.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs and vertical ladders.
- Ability to enter designated confined spaces to perform inspection and repair work.
Pay
The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level. Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
