Regular Duties / Responsibilities
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic work. (Work on energized circuits is required.)
- Perform project, modification and installation work as directed.
- Perform electrical preventive, scheduled and corrective maintenance.
- Fabricate / modify electrical operation and control enclosures for plant equipment.
- Procure replacement / new supplies and inventory and maintain electrical parts, tools, and stock materials which are related to the maintenance function.
- Operate, modify and maintain the electrical power distribution systems for SEL areas.
- Program, troubleshoot and utilize programmable controllers and other computing devices.
- Review Preventive Maintenance records to monitor machine performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Accurately record data for activity reports, work request /job cards, and other administrative reports and forms.
- Test equipment after repairs.
Periodic Duties / Responsibilities
- Support Electrical Engineers within the Plant Engineering Department as required.
- Provide technical support and assistance to Process Engineering and Production Personnel.
- Design, build and implement electrical solutions to machine problems.
- Cookordinate and manage assigned projects, including direct supervision of outside contractors.
- Review the work of outside contractors to insure compliance with all applicable policies and codes.
- Perform Plant Safety audits to identify faulty equipment / systems.
Equipment / Tool Use Requirements
- Use and understanding of the following equipment: Ammeters, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Personal Computers, PLC Programmers, Power Supplies, Shop Tools.
Experience with and use of the following information
- National Electrical Code
- OSHA 1910 Subpart S
Minimum Skill Requirements
- Associates Degree, or equivalent experience, in a related field or an apprenticeship program is required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial environment as an electrician is required.
- Machine installation and construction experience
- Shooting electrical problems on industrial manufacturing equipment
- Maintain and repair electrical and heavy industrial mechanical equipment
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment
- Interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
- Replace equipment on existing electrical systems
- Understand electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
- Test equipment after repairs
- Identify basic electrical symbols and read electrical schematic diagrams
- Isolate basic electrical control circuits
- Shoot electrical systems and wiring and repair complex electrical and electronic equipment or machinery
- Maintain all electrical and electronic equipment, switchgears and electrical power
- Interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
- Install various assemblies that require electrical wiring
- Maintain, install, and repair plant equipment electrical systems and facility electrical system
