About the role

The Industrial Electrician is a mission critical position responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment and control systems within the Sandhills Global facilities. They will use their knowledge of electrical systems to help these facilities run safely, efficiently, and minimize equipment downtime. Electricians will perform scheduled, preventative, and predictive maintenance to identify potential problems and fix them appropriately.

The Industrial Electrician will collaborate with colleagues, management, and outside vendors to install or maintain electrical or power systems, following all national, state, and local building regulation codes. Prior electrical experience that includes troubleshooting and repair is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and work with Siemens brand drives, PLCs, and other industrial and facility controls. A high level of professionalism, strong computer, and communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment and control systems
• Perform scheduled, preventative, and predictive maintenance
• Identify potential electrical issues before they occur (e.g., thermal imaging, amp testing)
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including reading electrical prints
• Collaborate with colleagues, management, and outside vendors to install or maintain electrical or power systems
• Assist with communication on equipment and support vendors (drive programming not required but may assist)
• Adhere to all safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines
• Assume other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2 years or more work experience as an electrician preferred
• Working knowledge of electrical theory, wiring methods, and various electrical systems
• Journeyman’s license preferred, but not required
• Apprenticeship or degree completion in the electrical field preferred
• Commitment to adhere to all safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines
• Stable and progressive work history
• Mechanical aptitude essential
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Able to learn quickly, embrace responsibility, and accept accountability
• Flexible and open to change
• Able to maintain attention to detail and quality while working at a rapid pace
• Able to work individually and communicate in a team environment
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Able to frequently grasp, lift, and stack items that weigh up to 35 pounds
• Able to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds for short distances
• Able to stand for the duration of the shift
• Able to pass a color blindness test
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license required; ability to travel both air and surface
• Ability to commute daily to local facilities required
• Emergency on-call availability required (minimal)
