Industrial Electrician

About the role

Rogers Group, Inc. seeks an Industrial Electrician for its Northern Middle Tennessee Quarries and Asphalt Plants. The role focuses on analyzing and correcting electrical problems, repairing and overhauling electrical equipment and controls, and maintaining an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Plan work by determining replacement needs, new materials, and a logical approach to correct problems.
• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.
• Receive wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions from supervisors for emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work.
• Perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, material properties, and electrical equipment operation.
• Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar devices.
• Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution cables, including splicing as required.
• Fabricate parts if not commercially available using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
• Determine need for, analyze, and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
• Advise and caution operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers.
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective actions taken.

Requirements

• Familiarity and experience working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Experience working with High Voltage (480 volts).

Pay

Wages starting at $40.00 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time day shift with some weekend and night work required; on-call rotation.

Locations: all Northern Middle Tennessee Quarries—Gallatin, Cross Plains, Reostone, Whites Creek, and Gordonsville; all Northern Middle Tennessee Asphalt Plants—Gallatin, Cross Plains, and Whites Creek.
