Industrial Electrician

About the role

Rogers Group Inc. is seeking an Industrial Electrician for their 3 local quarries in Louisville, KY. The approximate shift times are 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. or as needed by the operation. Wages are expected to be between $32-$45 per hour, with higher starting pay based on experience and certification. Candidates are eligible for a bonus upon successful completion of the MSHA electrical exam after one year of service. This position includes a company service vehicle for business and commute purposes, with overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.
• Receives wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions from supervisors covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed.
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
• Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
• Serves electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, and splices pieces as required.
• Familiarity and experience working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is required.
• Experience working with High Voltage (480 volts) is required.
• Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
• Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
• Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
• Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of previous electrical experience is required, with a minimum of a journeyman's license strongly preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience is required, with industrial electrical experience in a mining environment preferred.
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
